Celebrating Qatar's largest annual event at the Doha Corniche and the Darb Al Saai cultural festival
Under the direction of the State National Day Organizing Committee (SNDCOC), fischerAppelt managed the Qatar National Day celebrations between 2010 and 2016.
Between 2010 and 2016, Qatar’s largest annual celebration grew into a landmark event — a carefully orchestrated blend of national pride, innovation and scale. Along the Corniche, more than 1,000 palm trees lit up in synchronised patterns, framing a 4-km stretch that welcomed over 16,000 spectators. With large-format LED screens, immersive audio, and a perfectly timed fireworks finale, the waterfront transformed into a powerful stage for collective celebration.
At Darb Al Saai, the experience extended across 400,000 sqm, offering a dynamic mix of tradition and modern engagement. Visitors explored a rich programme of activities, live broadcasts, interactive zones and cultural showcases. Behind the scenes, detailed planning, seamless coordination with authorities, and robust infrastructure ensured every element ran smoothly.
Together, the two sites delivered more than just a celebration — they created a benchmark for national events in the region, capturing the spirit of Qatar through thoughtful execution and unforgettable moments.
